PMA Long Course 157: Become a Commissioned Officer in Pakistan Army

PMA Long Course 157 is the latest intake of Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, designed to train and commission cadets as Second Lieutenants after two years of rigorous residential training.

📆 Key Dates & Registration

  • Online registration for PMA Long Course 157 opens on 15 September 2025, closing on 24 October 2025.
  • Tests and selection phases follow after registration, including written/intelligence tests, physical evaluation, medical checkups, ISSB, and final medical.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality & Gender: Male citizens of Pakistan; domiciles in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are eligible. 
  • Age Brackets (depending on education level):
  •   • Intermediate / FA-FSc: 17–22 years 
  •   • Graduates (2-year) & serving Navy/PAF personnel: 17–23 years 
  •   • 4-year degree holders: 17–24 years 
  •   • Serving Army soldiers: up to 25 years under certain cases. 
  • Education: Minimum Intermediate (FSc/FA) or equivalent with usually ~60% marks; relaxed requirements (~55%) apply for candidates from remote/special areas. Graduates must have requisite marks and equivalence if degrees are foreign/A-levels.

💪 Physical & Medical Standards

  • Minimum height: 5 ft 4 in (≈162.5 cm). 
  • Physical test typically includes:
  •   • Running 1.6 km within ~8 minutes 
  •   • Push-ups, sit-ups, chin-ups etc.
  • Medical fitness according to Army standards (vision, general health, etc.). 

🎓 What You Get & After Training

  • Training at PMA Kakul, Abbottabad for 2 years; during this period cadets receive military, leadership, physical, and academic training. 
  • On successful completion, cadets are commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the Pakistan Army.
